5 Arrested After Fleeing Police When They Stop For Food: ISP
The vehicle had been spotted earlier drag racing at the Ford City Shopping Center, reports said.
CHICAGO, IL — An Illinois State Police task force arrested five people from a fleeing vehicle when they stopped to get something to eat at a fast food restaurant early Saturday, investigators said. The vehicle had been spotted earlier drag racing at Ford City Shopping Center, according to news reports.
Just after midnight Saturday, a Chicago District state trooper tried to stop a BMW on 47th Street and Cicero Avenue, that police said was speeding and driving recklessly, endangering other motorists.
The BMW did not stop, and the trooper ended the pursuit, police said. The car stopped at Original Maxwell Street near Independence and Harrison streets. Two of the five people got out of the car and were immediately surrounded by police.

ISP said the other occupants refused commands to get out of the car. One of the occupants was apprehended by a police K9 named Hades, according to a news release. State police said they also found a gun.
