Woman Dies After Being Pulled From Lake Michigan On South Side: Police

CHICAGO—The death of a woman who was pulled from the waters of Lake Michigan on Sunday morning near the South Side Kenwood neighborhood is under police investigation.

Police said the Chicago Fire Department Marine Unit pulled her from the water just before 10:15 a.m. in the 4500-block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive, according to news reports.

The woman was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Area One detectives are conducting a death investigation.

Her name and age have not been released. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday at the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
