COOK COUNTY, IL – An Englewood man is facing multiple felony charges after a Cook County Sheriff's Police said he engaged in sexually explicit communications with a teenager.
Luis Gonzalez, 43, of the 5700 block of South Morgan Street, is facing multiple felony counts of indecent solicitation of a child, grooming, and manufacturing harmful material.
In June, investigators with the sheriff's police said Gonzalez sent sexually explicit photos and videos of himself to an underage girl and solicited similar images from the teen in return. Through the execution of search warrants, investigators also identified communications in which Gonzalez discussed having sexual intercourse with the teen and encouraging the teen to sneak out to meet him, sheriff's police said.
Gonzalez was taken into custody by sheriff's police on Tuesday. Following a review of the evidence, the Cook County State's Attorney's Office approved felony charges for Gonzalez on Oct. 15.
Following a detention hearing Thursday at the George Leighton Criminal Courthouse, Gonzalez was ordered detained in Cook County Jail.
