Bold Thief Goes Behind Counter, Takes Cash From Register: Video

A man grabbed handfuls of cash from a business in a high-traffic area near Midway Airport with customers present.

CHICAGO, IL - A man walked into a Clearing neighborhood business last Wednesday and went behind the counter and grabbed money from a cash register as it was open while an employee was attending to a customer. The bold crime was caught on camera in the middle of the day in a busy area just a block from Midway International Airport.

Chicago police released surveillance videos showing both the suspect and the car he arrived and departed in. He pulls into a parking stall, walks into the business at 6400 S. Cicero Ave and paces around for a short time before going behind the counter while the cash register was open.

He does not appear to be confronted by the employee as he nearly empties the cash register and leaves the store around 3:43 p.m.
