‘Chicago For Chicagoans’ Tour Expands To South Side
Neighborhood tour geared toward city residents has events planned this weekend in McKinley Park.

CHICAGO, IL — The “Chicago for Chicagoans” walking tours geared at city residents who want to learn more about the city in which they live has expanded to the South Side with a pair of tours planned in the McKinley Park neighborhood this weekend.
The “pay-what-you-can” tour will take place from 1-3 p.m. on both Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, June 25. Tour-goers will meet at the Orange Line Station at 35th and Archer and enjoy a two-and-a-half hour tour of the neighborhood led by guest collaborator and preservationist Erica Ruggiero.
“Erica brings her expertise of the Central Manufacturing District to a tour that weaves and winds through picturesque streets of vernacular architecture,” according to an event page where those interested can secure tickets.

The tour will conclude at the well-known Lindy’s Chili & Gertie’s Ice Cream shop that’s been a McKinley Park staple since 1924.
A $10 to $20 donation is suggested, but providing feedback on the Chicago for Chicagoans Facebook and Yelp pages is appreciated as well.
