Chicago Police Officer Fatally Shoots Self In Squad Car
A Chicago police officer shot himself with his own service weapon in the parking lot of a South Side police station.

CHICAGO, IL - A Chicago police officer shot himself in the head Sunday night in the parking lot of a police station on the South Side. The death of Brandon Krueger, 37 has been ruled a suicide, the Chicago Sun-Times and others report.
Krueger died at the Chicago Police Department's 5th District station located at 727 E. 111th Street in the Pullman neighborhood. The Chicago Tribune reports the officer shot himself in his patrol car with his service weapon.
Krueger was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. With the Chicago Police Department, he was a member of a narcotics unit.

He leaves behind his wife, Andrea, three children and two stepchildren as well as both parents and a sister, according to his obituary.
Friends will remember him with a visitation at the St. Rita Shrine Chapel, 7740 S. Western Ave. from 3-9 p.m. on Thursday. A funeral is scheduled for Friday.
