Chicago Police Plan 2 Weekend DUI Saturation Patrols On South Side
CPD will conduct DUI patrols this weekend in the 8th Chicago Lawn District (June 21-22) and the 6th Gresham District (June 22-23).

CHICAGO — Chicago Police are planning two DUI saturation patrols on the South Side this weekend. Watch for high police visibility in the 8th Chicago Lawn and 6th Gresham districts this weekend.
Roving officers will be saturating pre-designated areas, monitoring traffic for signs of impaired driving, speeding and seat belt violations. In addition, the Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) Mobile Unit may be deployed to allow officers to expedite the process of charging a person with driving under the influence, prior to transporting drivers to the nearest lockup for a pretrial hearing. The mobile unit also allows for I-bonds to be issued at the saturation point.
The 8th District will commence at 6 p.m. Friday, June 21 to 2 a.m. Saturday, June 22.
