Chicago police will conduct DUI patrols this weekend in the 8th (Chicago Lawn), April 3-4 and the 1oth (Ogden) April 4-5 Districts.

CHCAGO—Chicago police are planning a doubleheader of DUI saturation patrols on the South Side this weekend in the 8th (Chicago Lawn) and 10th (Ogden) District.

Police will be saturating pre-designated areas with roving officers that will monitor traffic for signs of impaired driving, speeding and seat belt violations. In addition, the Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) Mobile Unit may also be deployed to allow officers to expedite the process of charging a person with driving under the influence, before transporting drivers to the nearest lockup for a pretrial hearing. The mobile unit also allows for I-bonds to be issued at the saturation point.

DUI patrols in Chicago Lawn will take place from 6 p.m. Friday, April 3, through 2 a.m. Saturday, April 4.
