Chicago White Sox 2018 Schedule: A List Of Can't-Miss Dates

Find out which dates to mark on the calendar for every month during the 2018 Chicago White Sox season.

CHICAGO, IL - As Chicago eases into the second week of spring, we will soon see the return of what many still see as America's favorite past-time. Baseball. And on the South Side of Chicago, that means the crack of the bat and the roar of the crowd at Chicago White Sox home games at Guaranteed Rate Field is right around the corner.

Here we'll take a look at some of the dates White Sox fans can look forward to this year. They're listed and organized by month, although some fan special days at the home ballpark occur on a weekly basis like fireworks on Friday nights, $1 hot dogs on Wednesdays, Family Sundays and Free T-shirt giveaways on Thursdays. MARCH

  • The White Sox will open the season on Thursday, March 29 with a 3:15 p.m. game at Kansas City to take on the Royals. The team won't play at home in March, with the second series of the season also on the road in Toronto.

APRIL

  • The White Sox will open their home slate with the home opener on Thursday, April 5 when the team will host the Detroit Tigers for a 3:10 p.m. game.
  • On Monday, April 23 against the Seattle Mariners it will be Dog Day at Guaranteed Rate Field.

MAY

  • From May 11-13, the White Sox will play their annual Crosstown Classic series at Wrigley Field against the Cubs.

JUNE

  • June 15 at Guaranteed Rate Field will be Mullet Night when the team hosts the Tigers at 7:10 p.m.
  • A week later, it will be Beatles Night when they face the Oakland Athletics at 7:10 p.m. on Friday, June 22.

JULY

  • With numerous contests at division rivals Cleveland, Kansas City, Detroit and Minnesota, there will be ample opportunities for fans to follow the team on the road to nearby cities. From July 2-4, they'll get a chance to visit a National League ballpark nearby for a series between the White Sox and the Cincinnati Reds at the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati.
  • The White Sox will host a two-game series from July 10-11 against the St. Louis Cardinals.
  • Hopefully there will be more than one White Sox representative on Tuesday, July 17 for the MLB All-Star Game at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.
  • On July 27, it will be Country Music Night at Guaranteed Rate Field for when the White Sox take on the Toronto Blue Jays 7:10 p.m.

AUGUST

  • On Aug. 7, it will be Halfway to Mardi Gras at Guaranteed Rate Field for when the White Sox host the New York Yankees at 7:10 p.m.
  • On Aug. 11, it will be Jim Thome Hall of Fame Bobblehead Night for when they play against the Cleveland Indians at 6:10 p.m.
  • On Aug. 17, it will be the always popular Elvis Night for the game against the Royals at 7:10 p.m.
  • On Aug. 30, it's Police and Fire Night for the 7:10 p.m. game against the Boston Red Sox.

SEPTEMBER

  • On Sept. 2, the White Sox will honor their legendary broadcaster Ken "Hawk" Harrelson with "Hawk Day" for the 1:10 p.m. game against the Red Sox.   • On Sept. 7, it will be Hispanic Heritage Night for the 7:10 p.m. game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
  • From Sept. 21-23, the White Sox will host their annual Crosstown Classic against the Cubs.

OCTOBER

No games are scheduled for October. Unless.... Well, probably not this year. But maybe.
