Child Dead, 4 Injured In Crash On I-57: Police

The child was declared dead while two other children and two adults were taken to hospitals, according to police.

CHICAGO — A child died and four other people were hurt in a crash Monday evening on Interstate 57, according to police.

The single-vehicle rollover occurred around 7:15 p.m. on the northbound side of the road near 107th Street on Chicago’s South Side, police said. The child was declared dead while two other children and two adults were taken to hospitals, according to police.

The right two lanes of the interstate were closed, police said, and the investigation was ongoing.
