CPD Warns Of ATM Robbery Pattern In Chicago Lawn, Deering
A man wearing a yellow work vest goes up to people at the ATM and grabs the money that is being withdrawn, Chicago police say.

CHICAGO — Chicago police are alerting residents in Chicago Lawn and Deering of a robber who is taking customers’ money when they are using the ATM.
A man wearing a yellow work vest follows customers into an ATM vestibule, then grabs the money that is being withdrawn. The robber then flees the scene in a vehicle into an unknown direction, police said.
Robberies were reported at the following locations and times:

4400 block of S. Pulaski on March 23, at 3:47 p.m.
4300 block of S. Archer on March 24, at 9:03 a.m.
The suspect in the March 23 robbery is described as a male black in his early 40s, 5-feet-11-inches tall and weighing around 230 pounds. He was wearing a yellow work vest.

In the March 24 incident, the customer gave a similar description of male in his late 40s, 6-feet tall, and weighing 200 to 220 pounds, wearing a yellow work vest, blue pants and black skull cap.
Residents are advised to remain calm if confronted at the ATM. Remember any unique characteristics such as scars, limp, acne or teeth. If video surveillance is available, save a copy of the incident for police. Get the contact information for any witnesses. Call 911 immediately and remain on the scene when possible.
