CHICAGO — A Chicago man charged with promoting prostitution is due in court Wednesday at the Leighton Criminal Court Building after he was taken into custody by the Cook County Sheriff’s Special Victims Unit at a business that was allegedly being used as a brothel

Shi Wang, 34, was working as a doorman at the brothel, which sheriff’s police said was operating as a massage parlor in the 2500 block of South Halsted Street in Chicago. Wang was arrested Oct. 9 following a months-long investigation and charged with two felony counts of promoting prostitution.

Investigators said that Wang set the prices for sexual acts, took the money from those acts, and helped set up the encounters with johns.
