Ex Shot New Boyfriend During Argument In Chatham: Cops

A 52-year-old man was shot and wounded by his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend Sunday night near 79th and Champlain.

CHICAGO - A man was hospitalized late Sunday night after police say he was shot by his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend.

Chicago police say the victim, a 52-year-old man, was at his girlfriend's house in the 7900 block of South Champlain Avenue in the city's Chatham neighborhood around 11 p.m. when the ex-boyfriend, a 50-year-old man, came over. An altercation started, according to police, and the ex-boyfriend shot the victim using a handgun.

The alleged offender was in custody as of early Monday but charges had not yet been announced, police said.

The victim was listed in good condition at the University of Chicago hospital.
