Ford and Hurley Seek Residents' Thoughts On Public Safety, Violence
The Illinois House Public Safety and Violence Task Force seeks residents' thoughts on current public safety trends and violence reduction.
CHICAGO – State Rep. La Shawn Ford (8th District), and Rep. Fran Hurley (35th District), co-chairs of the Public Safety and Violence Prevention Task Force, encourage residents to share their thoughts and feedback regarding current trends in public safety and efforts to reduce crime across the state.
Chicago and suburban residents' comments are encouraged and welcomed.
"Statistics are important, objective ways we can understand how current policies are working, but community feedback and participation in policymaking are equally important in our effort to keep communities safe," Ford said in a news release. “Our job as representatives is to listen to our constituents to help solve problems, and that's a mission of the Public Safety and Violence Prevention Task Force."
