Look Inside Schulze Baking Factory Before It's Remodeled

CHICAGO, IL -- One of the longest standing landmark historic structures on the South Side is a common sight for anyone exiting the Dan Ryan Expressway at Garfield Boulevard on their way to the University of Chicago. The Schulze Baking Company factory building was built at 40 E. Garfield in 1914 and on the exterior has stayed mostly intact since then.

That will soon change as the building will be remodeled into the Midway Technology Centre soon. The facility was opened over the weekend as part of the Open House Chicago project. Here's a look inside the historic structure as it awaits the remodel.
