Shooting Near Jewel Osco Leaves 1 Dead In Washington Heights
Chicago police said the 32-year-old man was confronted by someone he knew in the Jewel Osco parking lot who shot him in the abodomen.

CHICAGO — A 32-year-old man was gunned down by an acquaintance Tuesday afternoon near a Jewel Osco grocery store in Chicago’s Washington Heights neighborhood.
Around 3:30 p.m. in the 9400 block of South Ashland Avenue, Chicago police said the man was approached in the Jewel parking lot by someone he knew. The acquaintance brandished a gun and started firing shots, hitting the 32-year-old man in the abdomen, according to police. A gun was found at the scene.
The gravely injured man was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died later in the evening. He was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner as Antoine Alexander.

The Cook County Medical Examiner identified the deceased man as Antoine Alexander. No one is in custody. No arrests have been made. Chicago police are investigating.
