4 Wounded In Mass Shooting In Woodlawn, 'Persons of Interest' Being Questioned: CPD
Several "persons of interest" are currently being interviewed in conection to a mass shooting Wednesday evening in Woodlawn, police said.
CHICAGO — Four people were shot Wednesday evening near a gas station in Woodlawn in what in what Chicago police are calling a mass shooting.
Just after 7 p.m., officers responded to the 6600 block of South Stony Island Avenue for multiple people with gunshot wounds. Police said multiple suspects got out of a vehicle, produced guns and began shooting, striking multiple people.
Responding officers observed a vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting fleeing the scene. Police then initiated a pursuit. Several “persons of interest” are currently being questioned, and multiple guns were found at the scene.

Police said the four men wounded in the shooting are currently hospitalized at University of Chicago Hospital. One of them suffered a gunshot wound to the head and is in critical condition.
An 18-year-old man was shot in the back and left leg and is in fair condition, while a 19-year-old man suffered a leg wound, and an 18-year-old suffered a graze wound in the back. All three are expected to survive, officials said.
