Pedestrian Killed In Far South Side Hit-And-Run On I-57: Police
Illinois State Police said a passenger outside a vehicle that had pulled over on I-57 at 111th Street was fatally struck Monday morning.
CHICAGO — A pedestrian was killed early Monday on I-57 in an apparent hit-and-run accident, Illinois State Police said.
The accident happened just before 3:50 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-57 at 111th Street. ISP officials said a vehicle was pulled over on the right shoulder when a passenger outside was hit by a vehicle that didn’t stop.
The person was taken to a hospital where they were pronounced dead, ISP said.

All northbound lanes were shut down and reopened at approximately 7:45 a.m. No further information is available at this time.
