Preckwinkle and Lightfoot To Face Off In Forum At Malcolm X

Chicago mayoral candidates will discuss their plans to reduce gun violence in a forum Tuesday, March 19, at Malcolm X College.

CHICAGO, IL -- Chicago mayoral candidates Lori Lightfoot and Toni Preckwinkle will answer community questions about reducing gun violence and building economic prosperity in Chicago at candidates forum on Tuesday, March 19. The forum is being organized by inVEST and 100 Black Men of Chicago. Doors open at 3:15 p.m. at the Malcolm X College Auditorium, 1900 W. Jackson Blvd. The forum will get going from 4 to 5 p.m. and attendees are encouraged to arrive early.

Community residents most impacted by violence and those working on violence prevention will ask the candidates how they will use the full capabilities of the mayor’s office to reduce violence and build economic prosperity in the City of Chicago.

"We have a historic moment in our city and it's time to be in solidarity to support all organizations that have similar concerns and desires to make this city what it can be," said Carl H. Tutt, Jr., board chairman, 100 Black Men of Chicago, Inc.
