CHICAGO, IL - A center for primary care is at long last open in Englewood.

St. Bernard Hospital celebrated the opening of the Ambulatory Care Center at 6307 S. Stewart on Tuesday, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. The center will be the first neighborhood spot to open for several services when it becomes open to the public on June 7.

Among the services offered at the Ambulatory Care Center are orthopedics, radiology, and a prenatal women’s clinic. Outpatient therapy will also be offered.

“This building is a wonderful symbol for the community of Englewood — a sign of hope and rejuvenation and affirmation that people in this community deserve the same high-quality health care services one can get in any other parts of Chicago,” said Charles Holland, president and CEO of St. Bernard Hospital.

U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush was on hand to celebrate the opening, calling the opening of the center a need for the community, which he dubbed “like a war zone.”

“People come here because its doors are never closed, and they get what they need . . . . They come here because St. Bernard is here for them, and I am so delighted . . . to be a part of this opening of this ambulatory care center.”
