Reward Offered For Escaped Cook County Jail Detainee: FBI

FBI offers $2,000 reward for information leading to capture of detainee who escaped jail using another detainee's identity, sheriff said.

CHICAGO, IL — The FBI is offering a reward for a Cook County Jail detainee who escaped from jail on Saturday. Jahquez Scott, 21, is accused of offering money to another inmate in exchange for using his personal information to walk out of jail. Scott remains at large.

Quinton Henderson, 28, was scheduled to be released May 2 on an I-bond for a narcotics charge. An internal investigation revealed that Scott promised $1,000 to Henderson if he would let him use Henderson’s personal information to leave jail, sheriff's investigators said. Scott is said to have walked out of the jail wearing a face mask and using Henderson's identity to leave on bond.

The Cook County Sheriff said Scott had been jailed on $50,000 bail after being charged with the unlawful use of a weapon, and he had been ordered to electronic monitoring if he posted bond. Jail staff learned there was a discrepancy when they did not have Henderson's paperwork when he provided his information for discharge.
