Single-Car Crash Kills 3, Injures 2 Near Evergreen Cemetery
Chicago police said the five were not wearing seat belts and four were ejected after the car crashed into a tree.
CHICAGO — Three people died and two were injured in a single-car crash early Wednesday morning across the street from Evergreen Cemetery, news reports said.
The crash happened around 3 a.m. in the 3300 block of West 87th Street near Kedzie Avenue. Police said five people were in the car that was traveling westbound on 87th Street, when the female driver lost control of the car and crashed into a tree. According to reports, the five occupants were not wearing seat belts; four people were ejected.
The 24-year-old female driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where one of the victims died at 4:09 a.m. An 18-year-old man, identified by the Cook Count Medical Examiner’s Office as Robbie T. Bell, of Justice, was pronounced dead a a minute later.

Two women, ages 20 and 19, were ejected. Both were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and are listed in fair condition.
Area 1 police are investigating.
