Toddler, 2, Dies After Shooting Himself In Head; Man In Custody: Police
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the name of the child who died.
CHICAGO, IL: A 2-year-old boy died after shooting himself in the head Sunday in Chicago, police said.
According to the Chicago Police Department, the shooting took place in the 900 block of E. 104th Street at about 12:40 p.m.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that the child was identified as Jamonte Shaw.

The 2-year-old was inside a residence when he sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, police said.
He was transported to Comer Children’s Hospital and was initially reported in critical condition but later, was pronounced dead, police said.

A 31-year-old male was taken into custody, police said.
It was not immediately clear how the child got hold of the gun or what his relationship was to the man arrested.
Area Two detectives are investigating, police said.
