CHICAGO — Chicago police have released images and store surveillance video of three people wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a Chatham security guard last week.

Edward Fontaine Creamer, 53, was shot and killed while confronting a group of shoplifters on Dec. 20 at the Chatham Village Square mall near 87th Street and Cottage Grove.

Police said Creamer had confronted two men and a woman, after witnessing them stealing merchandise. One of the trio allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the security guard. They were last seen fleeing in a gray sedan that had been reported stolen the day before.

Store surveillance video shows the three entering the store and picking up baskets. After filling the baskets with merchandise, the three run out the door.

The first person of interest was last seen wearing a black winter hat, blue puffy jacket and blue jeans.

The second person of interest wore a camo winter hat, black jacket and black pants. The third person was wearing a black baseball cap with a white logo, black jacket, purple shirt and purple pants.
