6-Year-Old Girl Shot on South Side Street Tuesday
Tacarra Morgan is in critical condition after being shot in her front yard at 60th and Paulina.
Chicago, IL - A 6-year-old girl was hit by gunfire on the South Side Tuesday afternoon.
ABC-7-Chicago reports Tacarra Morgan was hit at 1 p.m. while sitting on a porch in the 6000 block of South Paulina.
Morgan's uncle told ABC about a dozen shots rang out, with two landing inside the home.

She was shot in the abdomen and taken to Comer Children's Hospital, where she underwent successful surgery just before 5 p.m. and is now in recovery.
John Escalante of the Chicago Police Department said a second round of gunfire within minutes on the block resulted with one of the bullets hitting Morgan.

He said the CPD is looking for a white SUV involved in the shooting. Two other vehicles may have been involved.
"This is unacceptable," Escalante said. "We are dedicated to use the resources we have to find the people responsible for this shooting."
Escalante said once they do find the offenders, its likely that those offenders "have had previous dealings with police."
A video of the shooting's aftermath was shared on Facebook and viewed several thousand times.
"This is the kind of stuff you deal with when you come to the hood," one man can be heard saying. "It happens every day here."
