All 13 Springfield fire stations will participate, and the city is encouraging families to attend so younger generations understand why the community continues to remember.
5. Career Connections (springfieldbusinessjournal.com) — Springfield-area professionals are being recruited by the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce to join a new Career Connections program that pairs them with local high school students exploring careers. Volunteers will be listed in an online directory for interviews and possible job shadowing, with the effort funded through a Sangamon County grant backed by state resources.
