Community Gathers to Support Lung Health, Local Stair Climb
Fight For Air Climb Launch Party slated for next week in Springfield

Today, the American Lung Association in Illinois announced that the official 2018 Fight For Air Climb Launch Party is on Tuesday, October 24 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Nancy’s Pizza in Springfield.
The launch party welcomes registered climbers, those interested in the Fight For Air Climb, and anyone in the community who is interested in learning more about lung health and clean air.
The Fight For Air Climb, set for February 25, 2018, attracts thousands of Illinois residents who race up the stairs of Wyndham Springfield City Centre (32 floors and 532 steps) in an effort to raise awareness and money to fight lung disease.

In Illinois, there are more than 1.3 million people who suffer from lung disease, including more than 6,500 who battle lung cancer. The Fight For Air Climb helps save lives locally by raising awareness about the risk factors of lung disease, helping people manage their illness through educational trainings, by funding research to find a cure for lung cancer and much more. Almost 90 cents of every dollar raised goes directly to education, research and advocacy.
Registration for the 2018 Fight For Air Climb is currently open online or by calling 217-787-5864. Climbers can register for a discounted price of $15 before January 12, 2018.
