Gov. Rauner Profiting Off ICE Detention Center Contracts: Report
For-profit health-care provider has $1 billion in revenue each year.

SPRINGFIELD, IL — A recent report claims Gov. Bruce Rauner profited from a for-profit health-care provider that has millions of dollars in government contracts with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention centers. Politico reported on Monday that the Republican governor revealed his earnings from a private equity fund that owns Correct Care Solutions in his most recent statement of economic interests, in which the report also includes the health-care provider has $1 billion in revenue each year.
Politico reported Rauner maintained he doesn't have any direct relationship to Correct Care Solutions as he also gave up his investment moves to a third party. However, the disclosure indicates otherwise, as this financial connection between a current governor and the for-profit ICE detention contractor is believed to be a conflict of interest by immigration rights groups.

According to Politico, Correct Care Solutions has a history of dozens of lawsuits claiming negligence.
Rauner's opponent, J.B. Pritzker, put out a mostly false campaign ad claiming that Rauner is profiting from the separation of families, CBS reported. Rauner's campaign also issued a rebuttal of the ad, which the Associated Press also ruled the add to be false.

Nearly one year ago, Rauner signed Senate Bill 31, also known as the Illinois TRUST Act, which prohibits law enforcement from stopping, detaining or arresting anyone based on their status or an immigration detainer.
