Illinois' Best: Vote For State's 'Top 200'
"Blues Brothers" or "The Fugitive"? Movies are the first of multiple categories in the survey from the state's bicentennial committee.
Happy birthday, Illinois! In honor of the Land of Lincoln's 200th birthday on Dec. 3, 1818, the state's bicentennial committee is looking for the state's "200 best" in a variety of categories. Voting is under way now, and residents can vote in a different category every two weeks. A total of 20 categories will be up for a vote, starting with movies.
"Help choose the best of Illinois, from actors and authors to historic sites and incredible moments," the survey asks.
First-round voting ends March 2 and asks voters to make their top five picks when it comes to movies set in Illinois or filmed here, from "The Blues Brothers" to "The Fugitive" to "A League Of Their Own" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."
