Hyde Park, IL – Jeannie Evans, candidate for US Senate, says protecting elections should not be a partisan issue as everyone – Republicans and Democrats – should want safe and secure elections.

The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) ACT has passed the House and is in the Senate awaiting a vote.

“We need IDs to board a plane, pick up tickets at a will call window, and purchase allergy medicine,” Evans said. “There is no reason for voters not to be required to show some form of ID. This is an 80-20 issue that has broad support from both political parties. It is time for the Senate to act and pass this important piece of legislation.”
