1 Charged Following Stabbing In Virgil

The incident occurred Wednesday night at a home.

KANE COUNTY, IL — A 43-year-old Maple Park man faces charges after he allegedly stabbed a 22-year-old man with a kitchen knife inside a home in Virgil. Marcus E. Postwa has been charged with aggravated battery and two counts of battery following the stabbing, which occurred at about 6:50 p.m. on Wednesday at a home in the 6N000 block of Merdith Road, according to a news release from the Kane County Sheriff's Office.

The two men got into a fight at the home, which was broken up by two other people inside the residence, according to the news release. Postwa was "thrown out of the house" and the 22-year-old man was found with what appeared to be a stab wound, police said.

Kane County Sheriff's Office deputies located Postwa at a bar just west of the stabbing location and took him into custody, according to a news release.

The 22-year-old man was transported to Delnor Hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
