2 Hospitalized Following St. Charles House Fire

The blaze broke out at a home ion Whittington Court early Wednesday.

ST. CHARLES, IL — Two people were injured in a blaze that broke out at a home in St. Charles early Wednesday.

The St. Charles Fire Department responded to the home on Whittington Course at about 3 a.m. and found a fire inside, according to a news release. There were two people asleep in the house at the time who woke up to the sound of smoke detectors.

Both suffered smoke inhalation and were taken to Northwestern Hospital in Geneva, according to authorities.

No firefighters were injured in the fire, and the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
