26th Annual Pumpkin Pedal to support Special Olympics Illinois on October 1

Bike riders of all abilities support Special Olympics Illinois in Maple Park this weekend

On Sunday, join Special Olympics Illinois for the 26th Annual Pumpkin Pedal kicking off at the Sycamore Speedway in Maple Park.

Recreational riders and families can enjoy 10-, 20- and 26-mile trail rides entirely on the Great Western Trail. For serious riders, the 40- and 62-mile road rides will be on roads in far western Kane County. Beginning at 7:30 a.m., this event is the perfect way to welcome fall.

Why bike? Besides the fun you’ll have and the great people you’ll meet, you’ll be riding to help Special Olympics athletes. Your entry will support year-round training for Illinois athletes with intellectual disabilities. All you have to do is bring your bike and helmet, your family, your friends and pedal! We’ll take care of the rest.
