2nd Avenue Bridge Closes For Routine Maintenance

City officials says 2nd Avenue between Chestnut and Park avenues should be closed for approximately 10 days.

ST. CHARLES, IL — The city of St. Charles has closed 2nd Avenue between Chestnut and Park avenues in order to conduct routine maintenance on the bridge.

City officials said the bridge will be closed for approximately 10 days to allow for replacement of expansion joints at each end of the bridge, minor concrete repairs and the application of a protective coat.

Traffic delays are expected while the work is underway, and drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes.
