Alyssa Allgood Quartet Set to Launch 'Music in Gallery' Series at Norris Cultural Arts Center

The Alyssa Allgood Quartet kicks off the Norris Cultural Arts Center’s inaugural “Music in the Gallery” season, Sunday, Feb. 22 at 3:00 PM. Alyssa Allgood is an exciting new voice in vocal jazz, offering a unique interpretation of the repertoire. She was recently awarded the Best Collegiate Vocal Jazz Soloist of 2014 in DownBeat Magazine’s Student Music Awards. Alyssa also was a top 40 semifinalist of the 2014 Sarah Vaughn International Jazz Vocal Competition. She leads the Alyssa Allgood Quartet, specializing in new arrangements of jazz standards and original compositions. She has performed in leading jazz venues throughout the Chicago area.
