ST. CHARLES, IL — The city of St. Charles has revoked the liquor license for Global Brew Tap House following repeated violations involving unpaid alcohol taxes, late fees, and unpermitted construction work, officials said.
Mayor Clint Hull, acting as Liquor Control Commissioner, presided over the matter during the May 18 St. Charles Liquor Control Commission meeting, which oversees alcohol, tobacco, and massage licensing issues, according to a news release from the city.
According to city records, Global Brew Tap House, at 2100 Prairie St., was cited April 10 for failing to timely file and remit city alcohol taxes for multiple reporting periods between December 2024 and February 2026. The business was also assessed late fees tied to several of those unpaid tax periods, city officials said.
In addition, the establishment was cited for unpermitted construction, including the installation of a kitchen and commercial kitchen equipment without the required city approvals, according to the news release
The case first came before the commission on April 20, when the licensee appeared and requested a continuance, which was granted. However, officials said the business failed to appear at the May 18 hearing, did not file an answer or respond to the complaint and did not submit required documentation.
The commission entered a default judgment and, after considering the case, voted to revoke the liquor license, city officials said.
