Wahlburgers Closes In St. Charles

The restaurant closed "effective immediately," the business announced Monday.

ST. CHARLES, IL — Wahlburgers announced Monday it was closing its St. Charles location effective immediately.

“It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce Wahlburgers St. Charles will be permanently closing our doors on June 29, 2026 as our current lease at this location has come to an end,” the restaurant said in a Facebook post.

The restaurant, located at 825 S. Randall Road, opened in July 2020 — more than three months later than planned due to the coronavirus pandemic — with actor Donnie Wahlberg there to open the doors.

Wahlberg founded the Wahlburgers restaurant franchise with his two brothers, actor Mark and chef Paul. The St. Charles location was the chain’s second in Illinois at the time of its opening, but as of Monday, it was the only Prairie State restaurant still listed on the business’s website, although Wahlburgers still has locations in 15 other states, the website said.
