St. Charles East Varsity Drill Team Takes 2nd Place at State Finals

The St. Charles East Varsity drill team had a successful weekend at the Team Dance Illiinois State Championships on Sunday, March 3 at the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, IL.  The "Dancing Saints" placed 2nd in the Class 3A Lyrical Division and 4th in the Class 3A Open Dance Division.  The Varsity drill team is coached by Hanna Byington and Kristina McAndrew.  The Junior Varsity also did well taking 2nd place for their Division-1 Lyrical performance at the TDI Junior Varsity Invitational.  The JV team is coached by Jessica Bolvin.

The St. Charles East drill team is proud to be part of the "Upstate 8" Conference.  At the TDI State Championships, the conference finished strong with many schools winning state titles or placing in the top three for their category.  In the Varsity 2A Division, Larkin H.S. took 1st place in Lyrical and 2nd place in Open Dance, Batavia H.S. took 2nd place in Open Pom and 3rd place in Open Dance, Geneva H.S. took 2nd place in Lyrical.  In the Varsity 3A Division, St. Charles North H.S. took 1st place in Lyrical and 3rd place in Open Dance, Bartlett H.S. took 2nd place in Hip Hop and 3rd place in Open Pom.
