Annual Fire Department Open House on Saturday, October 13

Event Highlights Fire Prevention Week

The St. Charles Fire Department will host an open house on October 13 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Fire Station 1 and the Municipal parking lot, 112 N. Riverside Ave.

Family activities include:

  • Live burn demonstration
  • Vehicle extrication
  • Scuba diving
  • Rope rescue
  • Safety house
  • Combat challenge for kids

Fire engines, fire trucks, off road vehicles, and rescue boats will all be on display along with various other tools and equipment.

“The open house is a fun time for families and a great way for children to learn about fire safety,” said Fire Chief Joseph Schelstreet. “We highly encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to take a tour, visit with the different members of the department, and to ask any questions that you might have.”
