EF-I tornadoes were confirmed in Earlville, Plainfield/Romeoville and far southwest Kendall County. Two tornadoes were also confirmed near Grant Park in Kankakee County.
A mother and her son were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following the incident early Tuesday.
The storms could produce hail up to two inches in diameter, wind gusts in excess of 70 mph, torrential rainfall and localized flooding, frequent cloud-to-ground lightning and the possibility of a tornado.
