Auditions for ANNIE JR at Vero Voce

(ST CHARLES) Vero Voce is pleased to announce auditions for ANNIE JR. Auditions will be held at Vero Voce, 951 State Ave., Ste F, St Charles by appointment on December 6, 2015, 12:00-5:00 pm. ANNIE, JR will be directed by David M. Rodriguez (Vero Voce Artistic Director), with vocal direction by Dawn Harkins (Vero Voce co-owner) and choreography by Jocelyn Adamski. The production will run February 26-March 6, 2016 at Vero Voce. Performances are Fridays at 7:00 pm, Saturdays at 4:30 pm and 7:00 pm and Sundays at 6:00 pm.

Actors are asked to prepare one monologue (30-45 seconds) and 16 bars of a musical theater selection. There will be a read through Mon, Dec 14, 2015. Rehearsals begin Sunday, Jan 3 and will be held 2 week-day evenings and one weekend day until tech week. This is a tuition based program.

Based on the popular comic strip by Harold Gray, Annie, the world-wide phenomenon, was the winner of seven TONY Awards including Best Musical and is now adapted for young performers in Annie JR. The beloved book and score by TONY Award winners Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin features some of the greatest musical theatre hits ever written including “Tomorrow”.

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find her parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. She finds a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

Vero Voce course offerings include all instruments, voice and theatre classes and a full season of adult musical and non-musical productions and young actors’ theatre productions. All performances and classes are held in our 7000 sq ft facility located at 951 State Avenue, St Charles, Illinois.
