Avoid Identity Theft, Shred Documents for Free This Weekend in St. Charles

The free shredding event will be held at the St. Charles Police Department on May 20.

The St. Charles Police Department and KCT Credit Union are hosting a free document shredding event to help citizens keep important information out of the hands of identity thieves. From 10 a.m. to noon on May 20, the city’s shredding contractor, ProShred, will set up in the St. Charles Police Department parking lot, 211 N. Riverside Avenue, according to a news release. ProShred has been in business for more than 25 years and is the most certified shredding company in the industry.

Securely dispose of confidential paperwork, including the following:

  • Bank statements
  • Credit card statements/applications
  • Social security information
  • Medicare/Medicaid information

This event is open to individuals only. No business documents will be accepted.
