Award Winners for Electric Christmas Parade Announced

ST. CHARLES, IL – The Downtown St. Charles Partnership has announced the award winners for this year's Electric Christmas Parade. A panel of judges selected this year’s winning parade entries, which included:
Best of Show:
- Ozinga Ready Mix Concrete Inc.
Children’s Showcase
- 1st Place – St. Charles East Girls Basketball
- 2nd Place – St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Preschool
- 3rd Place – St. Charles Swim Team
Non-profit Showcase
- 1st Place – Lazarus House
- 2nd Place – St. Charles Park District
- 3rd Place – Fox Valley Model A Club
Business Showcase
- 1st Place – Hanson Landscape
- 2nd Place – Great Lakes Coca Cola
- 3rd Place – Lakeshore Recycling
About 30,000 people crowded along Main Street to witness this year's popular parade. In addition to the St. Charles Special Olympians as Grand Marshals, the Electric Christmas Parade featured Mayor Raymond Rogina, St. Charles Aldermen and Ella Joy Won as this year’s official "light switchers," according to a news release.
The weekend featured a free showing of Home Alone at the Arcada Theatre, live holiday window displays along 1st and Main streets, horse-drawn trolley rides and visits with Santa; which continue each Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. in the 1st Street Plaza now through December 23.
