Fred Norris, the former 20-year mayor of St. Charles, was given the 29th annual William D. Barth Award for community service on Thursday evening, the Daily Herald reports.
TriCity Family Services honored Norris on Thursday night for his community service, which has included support for many organizations and causes, fundraising and volunteering, to mention his two decades as mayor, the Daily Herald wrote.
That includes his support of TriCity Family Services, for which the newspaper said he played a key role in getting the organization started in the late 1960s.
