Batavia Ranks Third on Happiest Cities List

Batavia has ranked as one of the happiest places in the state to live.

A recent survey by creditdonkey.com, a credit card comparison and financial education website, found Batavia to be the third happiest community in Illinois.

Creditdonkey.com looked at data from the U.S. Census Bureau and FBI Uniform Crime Reports to collect data on divorce rates, commute times, income, crime rate and more to determine the town’s level of happiness.

Batavia scored the second-best for income with residents earning an average of $90,000 per year, according to the rankings. The divorce rate for Batavia residents was also low with 11.1 percent of females and 4 percent of males currently divorced.

Violent crimes were also low. The odds of becoming a victim of a violent crime in Batavia occurs to one in 797 people, according to creditdonkey.com.

The town that is the happiest in Illinois, according to creditdonkey.com, is Moline. Other towns to make creditmonkey’s list include: Wheaton, Elmhurst, Park Ridge, McHenry and Burbank.
