Bicyclist Hit By Truck Remains Hospitalized

The driver of the Ford pickup that allegedly involved was ticketed Wednesday.

A St. Charles man remains hospitalized after he was struck by a Ford pickup while riding his bike Wednesday morning.

The 60-year-old man was hit while riding at about 9 a.m. in the intersection of Division Street and Walnut Hill Avenue, according to . He was taken to Delnor Hospital but was later transferred to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

A spokeswoman from Advocate said the man was still in the emergency room and could not yet provide his current medical status.

Police have ticketed the driver of the Ford F350 pickup, Stephen Biggs, 31, of St. Charles, for failure to yield while turning left and for making an improper left turn. He was not injured in the crash.

Biggs was turning left from Division onto Walnut Hill when he reportedly struck the bicyclist, police said. They do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
