Burns Endorsed By Five Township GOP Chairmen

Kevin Burns gets the support of five Republican township chairs in his bid for Kane County Board Chairman.

Five Republican Party township chairs have endorsed Kevin Burns' campaign for the Republican nomination as Kane County Board chairman. The Geneva mayor faces in the March primary.

"We are pleased to support Kevin Burns' campaign," said Mark Wissing, the GOP chair for Geneva Township. "This is a leadership position, and it needs to be filled by an administrator with the appropriate experience."

In addition to Wissing, Burns received the endorsement of Ellen Nottke, Batavia Township; John Fahy, Dundee Township; Ken Shepro, St. Charles Township; and Mike Kenyon, Elgin Township.

“Kevin Burns is the best qualified candidate for chairman of the Kane County
Board," Kenyon said. "Not only does he understand municipal government and what makes it work, he is the most capable when it comes to working with others.”

Shepro praised Burns’ experience, as well.

“Kevin Burns is an experienced chief executive who has skillfully led the city of Geneva through the recession with expense reductions, balanced
budgets, and healthy reserve levels,” Shepro said.

“Kevin is a leader,” said Fahy. “More than that, he’s a consensus builder, and Kane County needs those qualities in its chairman.”

Kevin Burns welcomed the show of support for his campaign.

"I am honored these five Republican township chairs have endorsed my candidacy, Burns said. “They are community leaders, and their support and friendship mean a lot to me. I look forward to working with all of them as our campaign goes forward."
