Business Cited For Selling Nicotine Product To Minor

Smokin' Ace in St. Charles has been fined $500 after authorities say the business sold the alternative nicotine product to a minor.

ST. CHARLES, IL — A St. Charles business has been cited for selling an alternative nicotine product to a minor. Smokin' Ace, 210 W. Main Street in St. Charles, has been fined $500 following a hearing before the St. Charles Liquor Control Commission on Nov. 18, according to a news release from the city of St. Charles.

The business also has been ordered to pay $500 in court costs.

"Problems with young people vaping have become more prevalent," said Raymond Rogina, the mayor of St. Charles who is also a liquor commissioner. "I have a low tolerance for this type of violation. It is clearly within my authority to address future violations with a license suspension or revocation."

Authorities say Smokin' Ace sold the tobacco alternative to a minor on Oct. 30.
