Campton Hills Village Board Votes to Fire Administrator Jennifer Johnsen
The village board voted 5-1 in favor of firing Johnsen on Wednesday.

CAMPTON HILLS, IL - The Campton Hills village board of trustees has voted to fire administrator Jennifer Johnsen in a move blasted by several area residents during a Wednesday meeting as the public is still unclear over the exact reasons behind the dismissal, according to the Daily Herald.
Kristin LeBlanc, who unsuccessfully ran for village president in 2011, said Johnsen, who was hired in 2014, had been an asset to the village while other residents chastised the village board for its infighting and dysfunction, according to the article.
“I'm frustrated we're letting somebody go without cause. If there is a cause, you need to let the community know," LeBlanc told the village board. "This is a bad decision right now. You need to show the community some stability and good decision-making skills."

The village board voted 5-1 to in favor of the dismissal, which will be effective Aug. 12, following a 2.5-hour closed door meeting on Wednesday.
In 2014, the village board voted to reinstate Johnsen as the town’s village administrator after village president Patsy Smith placed Johnsen on paid leave due to “performance issues and for a possible Open Meetings Act Violation,” according to a December 2014 article by the Daily Herald.
