Chicago Pop Culture Con at Pheasant Run!
The Chicago Pop Culture Con is taking place at Pheasant Run this weekend and bringing tons of fun from all parts of the entertainment world!
This weekend, I will be immersing myself in pop culture goodness at the Chicago Pop Culture Con. Held in the Pheasant Run Mega Center and Ballroom in St. Charles, the Chicago Pop Culture Con is loaded with celebrities, collectibles and events covering everything on the pop culture spectrum.
Everyone has their main attraction and for me it will be the former Chicago sports stars. Super Bowl champion Chicago Bears lineman Kurt Becker, former Blackhawks goalie Murray Bannerman, former Chicago Cubs infielder Paul Popovich and former Bears quarterback Bobby Douglass comprise a quartet of favorites from my youth.
I am also excited to see a couple old friends in the industry. I first met actress Kaylee Williams many years ago and have followed her career since. I also met Director and Author John Borowski a few years back and have watched his career progress. I’m looking forward o getting updates and sharing laughs with both of them.

There are several creators scheduled to appear, too. Artist Art Baltazar, conic creator Zak Atkinson, artist Scott Beaderstadt, author Leigh Savage, entertainer Jack HeKLeR with Ventriloquist Razor J, author Marc McGowan, action hero Daniel Pesina, comic creator Ryan White, illusionist Ron Fitzgerald, author Dave “Elvis” Ehlert, artist Charles D. Although I do not partake in cosplaying, I enjoy the creativity and effort of these dedicated performers. Cosplay Radio, the Age of Geeks, Central Defense: The Fighting Fifth garrison of The Finest: A G.I. Joe Costume Club, Lila Lucy, Rocky Doll, Victori Belle and hundreds of fans will represent the colorful world of cosplay.

There’s also The Horror & SciFi Prop Preservation Association, gaming, broadcasting and so much more. The Chicago Pop Culture Con is chock full of fun stuff all weekend.
In addition to all of the fun that the Chicago Pop Culture Con offers (or actually because of it all), I am looking forward to seeing many of my friends who will be attending. Wrestler, cosplayer and friend Rob Fury will be there with the Age of Geeks. Rob and the group are amazing cosplayers. Their dedication, creativity and fun attitudes
I’m expecting to see many other friends and will probably make several new friends. That’s the way these conventions are. You meet your favorite celebrities, shop for cool merchandise and reconnect with old friends.
The Chicago Pop Culture Con is taking place on Saturday and Sunday. Pheasant Run sits on 250 acres of land and also is home to a beautiful golf course. The par 72, 6500 yard course is open to the public and is one of the best in the midwest. There is also Zanies Comedy Club, a spa, dining and shopping on the premises. It would make a great 3 day weekend.
